One of the books which I enjoyed the most this year is Treason by Berlie Doherty. The first time I read it, I couldn’t put it down because I was so eager to find out what happened in the next chapter! It also taught me a lot about the Tudor era as this is the time period it is set in. Berlie Doherty has also written other historical fiction which I enjoyed such as Street Child.

My favourite children's book is Bitter Chocolate by Sally Grindley. I have chosen this book because of the way it has be written and the themes which it discusses. Many of my class really enjoyed this book and were able to use the descriptive language to paint a picture in their minds of what the characters looked like. My favourite child's author is Roald Dahl. I have chosen this author as he was a favourite author if mine when i was growing up. His tales of magical worlds and fantastic creatures can still excite me even today.

My favourite children's books are the Harry Potter series. When the first book came out, I read  it and then re-read it because I enjoyed it so much.

J.K. Rowling is my favourite author because she creates interesting plots that keep you guessing and creates characters that you believe in. She is a very imaginative writer who appeals to both young and old.

My favourite children's book is 'We're all going on a Bear Hunt' because it has rhyming and repetitive text which lends itself perfectly for reading aloud. The illustrations are also beautiful and entertaining.

My favourite children's author is Roald Dahl because he is incredibly creative with hsi vocabulary and particularly his character names.

My favourite children’s book is Monkey Puzzle because it’s got lots of animals and uses lots of words to describe them and because the children can join in with repeated refrains.

My favourite children's author is Roald Dahl because he has fun with his writing and makes up his own words!
